CAMAC support for Asian Aerospace '11 boosts MRO networking opportunities
Thursday 12th August, 2010
The Civil Aviation MRO Association of China (CAMAC), the official industry trade body representing the interests of both international and Chinese MRO companies operating in the huge China market, is joining forces with Reed Exhibitions to play a prominent role at Asian Aerospace 2011 in Hong Kong (March 8-10). CAMAC membership extends to almost 100 companies and includes global MRO leaders including AMECO Beijing, China Aircraft Services, GAMECO, Lufthansa Technik, Honeywell and TAECO, as well as major Chinese carriers like Air China, China Eastern, China Southern and Shenzhen Airlines. Since its foundation in 2007, the association has been playing a strategically important role in the development of China’s MRO industry.
“We are delighted to be supporting this very important commercial aerospace b2b show and exhibition in Hong Kong,” said CAMAC. “AA 2011 has a strong role to play in introducing and building business relationships between Western and Chinese companies and we are very pleased to be a part of it.”
“CAMAC is a powerful force in the MRO business throughout China, with the associations’ intended major presence at Asian Aerospace ‘11 offering enormous business networking opportunities for other exhibitors and visitors at the show. Co-operation with CAMAC will also include a series of road shows, conferences / seminars and online / media campaigns in the coming months to further boost visitors from this dynamic industry sector. With this new development for Asian Aerospace ‘11, I am in no doubt that we can expect MRO exhibitor and visitor support from China to surpass the numbers in previous years,” said Asian Aerospace’s Vice President Brian Thomas.
Debut for China MRO Pavilion
CAMAC will be supporting Reed Exhibitions in promoting a brand new China MRO Pavilion at the show. It will also assemble a senior visitor delegation group comprising members as well as non-members from the MRO industry to visit. CAMAC will also help to secure keynote speakers for a dedicated MRO session at the Asian Aerospace ‘11 Congress, which is being organised in conjunction with Flightglobal.com.
China MRO Growth
China has emerged as a major driver of growth in the aircraft MRO business well beyond Asia. Industry analysts are forecasting that China will represent 5% of the world’s MRO output and a third of all Asia-Pacific activity by the end of2010. According to the latest research by Frost & Sullivan, the China market grew from earning 10.3% share of Asia-Pacific MRO revenue in 2000 to 21.5% in 2009 and in doing so matches Singapore in market share. During the same period, Japan, the third largest MRO revenue earner, slipped slightly from 16.6% to 16%.“ The core of aerospace MRO activity is shifting towards Asia, with China and India expected to grow at the highest rate,” said Frost & Sullivan.
