Alison Chambers - Emerald Media UK/Europe
Alison started her career as a journalist on the Air Transport desk of Flight International where she worked for five years (1980-1985). She scooped a national award as Young Trade Journalist of the year in 1984 and has the distinction of being Flight's first female reporter. She joined Shephard Press in 1986 as editor of newly launched title Commuter World, dedicated to the emerging regional airline market, before becoming founding editor of Commuter/Regional Airline News International, a weekly newsletter devoted to the regional airline industry.
After selling the title to PPI in 1993 she established Emerald Media, which has become the UK's most dynamic aviation PR agency. Emerald Media has represented a broad range of aviation companies in Europe, including 11 years supporting major European regional airline, Crossair, through to the launch of its successor, Swiss International Air Lines. Other blue chip clients have included BAE SYSTEMS, Meggitt PLC and Ultra Electronics. Alison and her team steered the launch of British European's rebranding as Flybe and supported the former CityFlyer Express through to its ultimate sale to British Airways. Over the past few years Emerald has built up clients in the fast growing business aviation sector. Today, these include Grob Aerospace, ExecuJet, Aerion supersonic business jet, ARINC and the UK's largest helicopter charter company PremiAir. Alison is a member of the Aviation Club of the UK and a member of the APRO (Airline Public Relations Organisation).
